Note: The name “CIUO NERO” BLACK DONKEY derives from the nickname of a Man who had rented the stables at le Poggiola. In Tuscan dialect when we speak we loose the “C” of the word “CIUCO” =donkey, and so becomes “CIUO “
The vineyard with Merlot and Cabernet were planted in those lands.

This wine comes from our desire to create and to experience a new Wine, only ours is unique.

The first version was with the 2005 harvest
The second version with the harvest 2008 and is currently available also the 2011
GRAPE VARIETIES:30% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sangiovese 30%, Canaiolo 10%
Colour: dark Ruby Red
Smell: intense bouquet of plum and dark berry fruits, well combined with wood
Taste: full-bodied, appropriately tannic with a palate that invokes the scents perceived in nose
Food pairings: cheese and salami, roasted meats or stews, game.
Ageing: in oak barrels from 12 hl for 12 months
Bottling: in the company by July 2013 – 2500 bottles
Alcohol content: 12.5% vol.
Longevity: 8-10 years
