Red Wine IGT Tuscany “Ciuo Nero” 2011: the name “CIUO NERO” BLACK DONKEY derives from the nickname of a Man who had rented the stables at le Poggiola.
In Tuscan dialect when we speak we loose the “C” of the word “CIUCO” =donkey, and so becomes “CIUO “
The vineyard with Merlot and Cabernet were planted in those lands.
The donkey in the label is created by Luca Benedetti. He create all the labels of our wine.
GRAPE VARIETIES: 30% Merlot, 30% Cabernet, 30% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo
Type: IGT “tuscan geografic indication” – Dry, firm, full body
Colour: dark Ruby Red
Smell: intense bouquet of plum and dark berry fruits, well combined with woodTaste: full-bodied, appropriately tannic with a palate that invokes the scents perceived in nose
Food pairings: cheese and salami, roasted meats or stews, game.
Ageing: in oak barrels from 12 hl for 12 months
Bottling: in the company – 2500 bottles
Alcohol content: 14% vol
Longevity: 8-10 years
